A good day out at the museum again, we were fortunate to be able to take over two tables from a 'no-show' club which allowed us to put out mot of what we had taken. I hope to add some more pictures taken by John later. Steve Cox got second in the Armour Class - for his Model T Ford ambulance. One of Dave Gait's DC3s and Nick Cox's Jagdpanther were also competition winners.

In June the club put on a couple of local displays, at the Alconbury School Fete, and at Offord Church Fete.

Scottish National Model Show, Perth
Club Display
Janet and I met up with George and Sam at the lunch stop on the A66, and fully expected them to be waiting for us at Perth as they left before us. However, due to roadworks near Glasgow they took the scenic route through Glasgow centre, and we got there first.
The four of us filled one side of an aisle, though George and Sam filled most of it as Janet & I were combining the show with a holiday, so had two small displays.

I entered a couple of models in the competition, a 72nd PV2 floatplane in the Vacform class, and a 1/600th scale PV8 in the 144th and smaller class. The PV8 didn't win the class, but was awarded the "W'at If " Concept Trophy.

The club display, by Tim, Dan, Sam, Janet and Steve Cox. Steve Harper displayed the AAA SIG. At least ten other members attended for part of the day. One of Tim's Classic British Jets SIG dragons was commended in the "Miscellaneous" Class of the competition, and all the dragons generated comments from visitors to the display.

Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovilton
Six of us went down to Yeovilton for the weekend. Glyn and Alec set up and ran the club table, Sam, George and Janet ran their respective SIG displays, and I organised a display for the GWICC, an IPMS(USA) Chapter (branch) for the First World War.  Pictures of the SIG tables are on the SIGs page.

Modelkraft 2008 - Milton Keynes
The first show of the year for the Club. The show has moved to a smaller venue so table space was limited, but the standard of the show has not dropped. Several of the SIGs attended as well: South African Air Force, DC3, South Atlantic, Between-the-Wars and Airports, Aerodromes & Airfields. Pictures of the SIG tables are on the SIGs page.
